And now for something completely different...
Greatest movie quote about flying. Ever.
"Do you know what the 1st rule of flying is?
Love.
You can know all the math in the 'verse, you take a boat up in the air that you don't love she'll shake you off just as sure as the turnin' of worlds.
Love keeps her in the air when she oughta fall down, tell you she's hurtin 'fore she keels.
Makes her a home."
-Capt. Malcolm Reynolds
from "Serenity", written by Joss Whedon.
Yeah, I'm a big sap. I just bought the movie (from the 'previously viewed' shelf, of course) and watched it. Again. Already saw it in the theatres.
Firefly was quite possibly Joss Whedon's best work. While the movie was a sad final note in a beautiful series, it still makes you wonder 'what if we could do that'?
I love this kind of stuff :)

neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeerd!
did I not already establish this fact my friend? :)
I heard somewhere that while Firefly has ended (thank you Serenity for nicely tying up River's story), that they're going to try to continue the series through a movie or two more.
Though I'm not sure what they'd cover in a sequel, as everything has basically been addressed....
-me.
Hi --
This is totally unrealted to your post, but I wasn't sure where I could leave a quick message. My name is Erin and I was one of the photographers that came to the base awhile back as part of the Pro Photo program in Courtenay...we photographed all over, and visited the flight simulator and took us on a quick flying lesson over the airport. I was searching for a photo in the Totem Times online, and came upon your blog....I remembered that you mentioned something about you coming to Winnipeg/Portage for flight training...anyhow, that's where I'm from (I'm in Winnipeg now) and just wanted to say 'hi' and hope your enjoying the lovely Manitoba weather (or should I say mosquitoes?)....if you want any of the photos from that shoot, just let me know!
Of course, not leaving an email address where I could get those pictures from you makes contacting you kind of difficult Erin :p My email is jack_the_pilot@hotmail.com if you want to send them there!
